2025 Semantic Augmentation Challenge

In this episode, OMG Chairman & CEO Bill Hoffman chats with David Blaszkowsky, Managing Director of the  Financial Semantics Collaborative and Co-Chair of the OMG's Financial Sector Domain Task Force.
David provides the details for the 2025 Semantic Augmentation Challenge to be held virtually on July 22. OMG is inviting data and technology professionals to compete for a $1,000 prize in the Challenge. Contestants will work with an FDIC bank dataset to create metadata that maps columns to semantic references which provide meaning. You will need to show how your solution helps both humans and machines understand the data, and demonstrate that your approach works with updated dataset versions.The winning solution will be showcased on the OMG website and presented in Denver (remote or onsite).  For more information and to enter, please visit this special event page on the OMG website.  
 

The Future is Generative: Reimagining Innovation with Intelligence Towards 2040

In this episode, OMG Chairman & CEO Bill Hoffman chats with Gan Wang, VP Systems Engineering Ecosystem, at Dassault Systèmes. Gan walks through his organization's vision for the Generative Economy, a technology roadmap for a 3D universe to be realized by 2040. The universe will combine modeling and simulation techniques based on real world evidence and data with AI-generated content.
Gan explains that in this Industrial Metaverse, AI will digest large amounts of data and synthesize the highlights across vertical markets. The early capabilities are already emerging in test environments, in industries such as mobility, infrastructure, and healthcare.  Gan describes the two pillars of AI services in development at Dassault, including experiences generated by AI and virtual companions, AI based agents that assist professionals in their daily work. The Impact of the DoD 5000.97 Directive for Digital Engineering

In this episode, OMG Chairman & CEO Bill Hoffman chats with Steve MacLaird, OMG SVP, Government & Industry Strategy about DoD 5000.97.  This new directive establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for implementing and using digital engineering in the development and sustainment of defense systems.Steve walks through the elements of 5000.97 and what it means for the future of digital modeling, and new technologies such as digital twins and augmented reality. He explains the synergies with existing OMG standards such as Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML) 2.0.
